"Interactive Soundscape"
With the Interactive Soundscape installation, the whole human body becomes an instrument.
The work consists of a seemingly empty room, with cameras connected to computer software analysing movement, position, and speed of any activity in the room.
Three participants are left to explore the stage without instruction. After a while they understand that if they move in certain areas they can manipulate the sound. Once they locate a hit-zone, their movements within it can pluck soundscapes out of the air.
The red dots visible in the photographs have been added subsequently to illustrate the hit-zones.
Materials used: Performers, Stage, Speakers, Webcamera, Software.
