"Geniskapet"

One of the most significant bioethical issues of recent years has been the idea that pharmaceutical companies could copyright particular genes, giving rise to the paradoxical concept of someone else owning your DNA.
A combination of the Norwegian words for genius (geni) and cabinet (skapet), Geniskapet imagines a future where you can modify your appearance, augment your intelligence and alter your genetic make-up simply by visiting your bathroom. The artwork consists of a cabinet full of what look like pharmaceutical medicines but instead contain different DNA traits.
